What we liked
- + Three eyepieces (20X, 30X, 40X) give children a few magnification steps to try on the Moon and distant scenery.
- + Finderscope and compass are included to help kids aim and learn direction, and setup is described as tool-free.
- + Tripod works on a table or on the grass and rotates 360 degrees, so it suits a child's height and different viewing spots.
Trade-offs
- - Maximum 40X magnification with a small toy-class design limits detail, so planets will show little more than small discs.
- - Aimed at younger beginners, so older kids and adults will outgrow it quickly and may want a larger-aperture scope.
