What we liked
- + 114mm aperture on a Newtonian gives good light grabbing for Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky targets
- + Two eyepieces for 19X and 51.5X and a red dot viewfinder make first sessions simple to set up
- + Smartphone adapter and full-size tripod are included at about $90, a low price for 114mm
Trade-offs
- - Only two low to moderate powers are supplied, so planetary detail needs extra eyepieces
- - Alt-azimuth mount is basic and the listing gives few details on mirror quality or coatings
