What we liked
- + 127mm aperture gives a lot of light for the price in an entry-level scope
- + German equatorial mount teaches tracking skills used by advanced astronomers
- + Complete beginner package suited to backyard planet viewing
Trade-offs
- - Known for a short-tube design with a built-in corrector that softens sharpness
- - Equatorial mount is tricky for beginners and flexes under the tube
