What we liked
- + Four sections with 26mm legs and lever locks are stated to give a stiff, tool-free setup, folding to about 20 inches at 3 lb.
- + The 180 degree reversible center column and removable hook allow low-angle shots and hanging a bag as a counterweight in wind.
- + Ball head holds 11 lb (5 kg) with 360 degree panning and a 90 degree portrait lock, and the leg thread accepts other heads.
Trade-offs
- - An 11 lb rating suits mirrorless and DSLR kits but not a heavy telephoto rig or larger tracker setup.
- - A fixed ball head with no geared fine adjustment makes precise framing on a faint target slower to dial in.
