What we liked
- + 6-inch aperture with 94% reflective multi-coated borosilicate mirrors gives strong deep-sky light grasp for the cost
- + Tension control handles and Teflon bearings are listed for smooth azimuth movement without perfect balance
- + Comes complete with a 2-inch rack-and-pinion focuser, two wide-angle eyepieces and a 6x30 finder
Trade-offs
- - At $449 it is priced above the old 6-inch Dob it replaces, which is worth weighing against the 8-inch options
- - A solid-tube 6-inch Dob is bulky for its aperture and needs floor or table space to store and carry
