What we liked
- + 90mm aperture with full multi-layer coatings gathers noticeably more light than the 70mm and 80mm refractors
- + Stated 36X to 270X range with a complete kit: finder, zenith mirror, two eyepieces, Barlow and carry bag
- + Stainless steel AZ tripod adjusts from 28 to 46 inches and the listing says it assembles in about 15 minutes
Trade-offs
- - At f/10 the 900mm tube is long and the AZ mount has no tracking, so high powers need frequent nudging
- - Near $200 it costs more than the budget refractors, and the 270X figure is a theoretical maximum
