What we liked
- + 102mm air-spaced doublet gives high-contrast views at a short f/6.5 for a portable tube
- + Two-speed focuser, 90-degree star diagonal and 8x50 finderscope with bracket are included
- + A recognized astronomy brand with a clear, specific feature list
Trade-offs
- - The listing covers the optical tube only, so a mount and tripod must be bought separately
- - At about $450 it costs more than the all-in-one travel kits, and an achromat can show some color fringing
